GRP Skins

Lavender Composites is the exclusive Australian distributor for Lamilux Composites, the world leader in glass-reinforced polymer (GRP) laminates. All skins are manufactured in Germany using state-of-the-art continuous production machinery to TUV safety and regulatory automotive standards.

The skins are available in a comprehensive range of laminate thicknesses, widths, colours and finishes, in widths up to 3200mm.

Finishes include HG 4000 (ultra smooth and high gloss), Super (lower cost with some fibre print through), Woven (high impact), Anti Slip (gripped surface for flooring), X-treme (epoxy for lightweight and higher strength), and X-treme Carbon (ultimate in lightweight skins).

While the continuous manufacturing process enables custom roll lengths up to 150m, we also supply from our stock in cut lengths.

GRP skins are an innovative fibreglass solution used to manufacture caravans, recreational vehicles (RVs) and commercial vehicles, such as truck bodies and buses. The skins are also used in the construction, medical and sports industries where a smooth finish is required.

HG 4000

Super

• Proven all-round product with a wide range of possible indoor and outdoor applications

• typically used for internal application inside truck bodies

Woven

• High mechanical strength
• Lower linear expansion coefficient
• Highly resistant to UV radiation and weathering
• Combined with embossed finish for high-impact scuff strips

Anti Slip

• Excellent mechanical strength and durability
• Optional anti-slip effect with variable anti-slip grain (ratings from R 11 to R 13 in accordance with DIN 51130)
• Even distribution of anti-slip grain through automated, continuous manufacturing process
• Extremely wear-resistant due to excellent embedding of the anti-slip granule

X-treme

• High potential for lightweight construction
• Extreme tensile strength and rigidity of all glass-fibre-reinforced composites
• Good heat resistance
• Low thermal expansion
• Exceptionally high impact resistance and damage tolerance
• Tensile strength of up to 900 MPa

X-treme Carbon

• Maximum potential for lightweight construction
• Highest tensile strength and rigidity of all fibre-reinforced composites
• Good heat resistance
• Very low thermal expansion
• Optional impressive clear carbon fibre finish
• Tensile strength of up to 1,300 MPa
