Rudi started Lavender Composites to fill a gap in the market with excellent products and to provide technical support to customers who need assistance with product selection and advice on manufacturing.
With over twenty years’ experience working with panels for the recreational vehicle (RV) industry, Brisbane-based Lavender Composites provides products and know-how for our customers Australia-wide.
Our range encompasses impact-resistant, ultra-lightweight floor panels and high-gloss, smooth, insulated sidewall panels. We also supply glass-reinforced polymer (GRP) skins and cores to manufacture your own panels or to skin a conventional sidewall frame. We also stock extrusions, fasteners and adhesives to help you complete your project.
We give you good reliable advice about the best way to make your caravan, campervan, motorhome, toy trailer or tiny home. Through our in-house CNC cutting service, we can supply you with a kit of cut panels ready for you to assemble.
We think outside the square to help you create your custom project, making sure the job is done properly.
Australia’s leading supplier of premium composite panels for the caravan, RV and trucking industries.
Lavender holds stock in Australia (Bris & Melb) & NZ and can fulfil customers’ orders quickly and easily.
We ‘speak your language’. We give good old-fashioned customer service, qualified technical advice and support.
Over 20 years’ experience. We know the industry inside out.
You have complete control over the design. Rather than buying an expensive “cookie cutter” product, you can tailor your caravan, campervan or motorhome exactly to your own needs. You get the satisfaction in creating your own home-away-from-home — if you can dream it, you can build it!
The majority of caravans, campervans and motorhomes are now made using composite panels rather than the traditional “stick and tin” method. Composite panels are a completely finished product, with high-quality gloss gel-coat skins inside and out, and are supplied in one piece, eliminating any unsightly joins. As the panels are structural, additional framing is usually not needed. Composite panels are lightweight, waterproof and will not rot. All up, they give you a cost-effective and quick building method.
People with everyday practical skills can build their own vans. You can always buy a ready-made chassis if welding is not your thing. Once the chassis is finished, you just need to be able to use standard wood-working tools to get the job done. Obviously, all electrical wiring and gas connections should be done by licenced tradies.
The build can take from a few months to a few years. It all depends on how much time you have and how often your mates come over to “help”! The Lavender team will be with you throughout the build process and are always available for advice.
We can give you a basic cost estimate if you send us a rough diagram with overall dimensions. You can contact us through our website, by emailing doug.m@lavender-ce.com, or filling in the form on this page. We will follow up to discuss your project in more detail. If you’re in Brisbane, phone 07 3255 6924 to book a time to visit us at Wacol and we’ll show you samples and discuss your project.
The transport companies we use have delivered our panels around Australia and New Zealand for many years. They are used to handling composite panels and take great care to make sure they arrive in great shape. Our door-to-door service means that the panels go direct from our warehouse to you, and not via a depot where they could be damaged. You can also pick up your panels from our Brisbane, Melbourne or Hamilton (NZ) warehouses.

After talking to you I’m feeling very comfortable and not on my own. I’ve already spoken to others about your service and I hope that leads to other customers.

Doug, your customer service is outstanding. Thank you very much. P.S. Do you realise its Sunday night?

Doug is a nice guy. Easy to deal with and VERY helpful. If it wasn’t for this guy’s positive attitude and assistance, the project would not have got off the ground. Everything he told me was 100% accurate.

I stumbled upon Lavender today and I’m so pleased I did – their timeframe to cut panels is considerably quicker than everyone else. I had been dealing with another company, but they were really expensive, and their lead times to get anything router cut were very long.
